About me :)

About 9 months ago I had my 2nd child, a beautiful little girl! I knew this was going to be my last baby, so after being pregnant for what seems like the past 3 years (my son is 2) I had to redefine who I am as a Mom and a person. I haven’t really paid much attention to myself and I have come to a point in my life where I need to make a change to preserve my well being and I want to be a great role model for my kids.

I started the way most people would, I changed my diet and I began to exercise. I’ve had lots of excuses for why I can’t do this, I work all day and don’t see my kids enough, I am tired because my daughter is a troubled sleeper (to put it lightly!) or how about I am just plain lazy! I fought myself for a few months and finally in January I decided that if I was really going to do this for ME I needed to make some BIG changes!

I was lucky enough to have a friend introduce me to Advocare (I will devote a whole page to this!) . I took part in a 24 Day Challenge that consisted of a 10 day cleanse, and 2 week weight management system. This was exactly what I needed! I lost 10lbs and several inches and I took those results and used them as motivation to keep moving forward. Step one- where the heck am I going to find the time for all this! Well I wake up now at 4:00am and start my day. I do 30 minutes of exercise courtesy of Jillian Michaels Total Body Revolution- and let me tell you that it’s the best workout I have seen that combines cardio and weight training- and after 6 weeks I am seeing awesome results! About a week ago I started running. My goal is to run a 5k or several if I can get myself conditioned. I truly feel that I am better physically but also mentally. I am refreshed to start my work day and my energy is sustained all day, and I am still ready to go when I get home and play time with the family begins!

This has not been an easy process, and this is the much abbreviated version but I will write out exactly how I made my transformation and I encourage all of you to join me in starting yours. Just because we are Moms doesn’t mean we have to forget ourselves and only focus on family- we can do BOTH and very well 🙂
